The history of the Syrnai instrument (bayan) is very rich and long. The name syrnai is widely used in the Turkic languages, and the history of this instrument is mainly associated with the regions of Central Asia and Altai. It can be said that the development of the Accordion instrument began in the second half of the 19th century.
Of course, it is difficult to say the exact time of arrival of bai (syrnai) in Kazakhstan, but we can say that it began to spread in our country in the middle of the 20th century, especially through the integration of Kazakh music into the orchestral system. The development and formation of the accordion was influenced by the emergence of new trends in Kazakh music during the Great Patriotic War, and then in the 1950s and 60s.
During this period, the bayan instrument was widely recognized among the population and occupied an important place in the culture of our country with the works of many professional performers. As for the development of the Bayan instrument, its ultimate history is closely connected mainly with the traditional instruments of the Turkic peoples.
One of the first versions of the accordion is an instrument called "sirnai" or "syrnai". It became widespread in Europe and Asia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. There were many varieties of syrnai, among which it is especially important to note the connection between the Russian "accordion" and "bayan".
